Ogechukwu is a bald model and she has decided to start talking about her experiences as a bald girl in Lagos. According to her, some people will want to touch her head for good luck ….TF??
She also went on to talk about a lot more and the write-up is quite interesting. Read after the jump…
I’m doing this now so that I don’t chicken out or procrastinate 😭.
So, I’m turning this space into a personal journal that documents my experience navigating life as a bald woman living in Lagos (for now…Lagos don tire me). Even I can’t believe some of the ridiculous things I’ve heard people say and do when they see me (even strangers 😂 asking to rub my head for good luck is just the tip of the iceberg) and I just thought “why the hell am I not documenting and sharing this yet?”. The reactions I’ve gotten regarding my hair free scalp so far range from shock, praise, admiration, new catcalling vocabulary 😒 down to outright rudeness. Some still think I make this stuff up, so yeah… Let’s get this show on the road! 😌
PS: This won’t JUST be about the experiences. I’ll be celebrating other baldies, giving motivation to other women who are contemplating whether to go bald or not, tips on how to care for said bald head (should you decide to take the leap), barbershop recommendations, and so much more. The list goes on. Stick around on this journey with me. ❤💋
